This message was delivered by Hilman Latief, Director General of Hajj and Umrah Implementation at the ministry, during a send-off ceremony for pilgrims in Garut, West Java, on Saturday.
Latief stated that Indonesia has secured a Hajj quota of 221 thousand for 2025, consisting of 203,320 regular pilgrims and 17,680 special pilgrims.
He added that during the first phase of departure, over 60 thousand Indonesian pilgrims have arrived in Medina, while around 5,000 have reached Mecca.
Latief expressed hope that all Indonesian pilgrims would remain healthy and safe throughout the pilgrimage and return home without issues.
He also reminded pilgrims to be mindful of the extreme heat in Saudi Arabia, where temperatures can exceed 40 degrees Celsius, emphasizing the importance of physical and mental preparation.
“We urge pilgrims to maintain communication. If there are any concerns or complaints, report them immediately to our officers. Insya Allah (God willing), our team is ready to provide the best service,” he affirmed.
On the same occasion, Garut District Head Abdusy Syakur advised pilgrims to maintain their health through regular exercise and a balanced diet to perform their religious duties properly.
As of the 10th day of pilgrim departures, 158 flight groups -- comprising 61,404 pilgrims -- had been flown to Saudi Arabia by three airlines.
On Saturday alone, 21 flight groups with a total of 8,261 pilgrims were scheduled to depart from various cities.
