"With digital innovation, we hope that women can carry out self-actualization to discover more extraordinary roles," the minister remarked during the commemoration of Kartini Day in his office on Monday.
Pratikno emphasized that in the digital era, women are capable of assuming diverse roles, including being professionals and homemakers, who shape their children's futures.
He highlighted that technological advancements should be viewed as tools to simplify jobs and tasks, ensuring a harmonious balance between career and family life for women.
"Women play their roles more optimally with a lighter burden, or we call it work-life balance. They should have time for working but also for family, social, me time, and couple time," the minister added.
Pratikno voiced his deep admiration for women who skillfully balance homemaking and responsibilities with professional careers.
He acknowledged that motherhood was replete with challenges, spanning from the physical demands of pregnancy to the profound responsibility of shaping the nation's future generations.
Meanwhile, he called on men to be more supportive and involved in parenting.
"Career husbands should not be jealous of housewives, because housewives are extraordinary, especially mothers who also work. Mothers have an extraordinary role, taking care of the family, taking care of children, and ultimately taking care of the future of the nation," he emphasized.
Earlier, the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection urged Indonesian women to become empowered individuals to help eliminate violence and human trafficking, in conjunction with the 2025 Kartini Day commemoration.
The ministry's Assistant Deputy for Gender Mainstreaming in the Field of Human Development, Culture, and Community Empowerment and Regional Government Region III, Dewa Ayu Laksmiadi Janapriati, expressed her conviction that empowered women are capable of reducing or eradicating violence and human trafficking issues in Indonesia.
